One day, Lord Shakyamuni Tathagata was busy in conversation with one of his disciples. They were asking different things to the Tathagata. And he simply kept responding to their inquiries, as they ask. In the same context, one disciple asks him -

Disciple - Dear Tathagata, so far you have given us much wisdom and guide us all to the right path. We certainly feel very pleased to be a student of a great teacher like you. However, to this date, you've never told us anything about, what happens after our death. We are very curious to learn about what happens after we die, could you please enlighten us on this.

Tathagata:  Lord Shakyamuni Tathagata smiles and stays silent for a moment, after hearing that inquiry. He replies (seriously), that's right, I have never taught you about that. Ok. then today, I will teach you about what happens after death. But before that, can you answer one question?

Disciple: Yes, please proceed.

Buddha: One day a man was walking around the forest. Suddenly, he gets stuck with a poisonous arrow, out of somewhere. What shall be the best thing to do in such a moment? Should he remove an arrow from his body or should he investigate where the arrow came from, who attacked him with that arrow? What shall he do?

Disciple: He should first, remove the arrow from his body, otherwise, the poison will spread throughout his body and he could die.

Tathagata: (smiles) Yes, you're absolutely right. Now, answer one more question. Should we first look for a way to prevent the sorrow of this life or should we be worried about what happens after we die?

Disciple: (With a bright face), he remains quiet after hearing Lord Buddha's question.
